Artist: James Jack

James Jack was one our artists who worked on Three Pin's "Youthful Art of Healing" project for Providence Newberg Medical Center. He has a strong passion for using the natural world in his work, particularly in creating pigments from rocks and minerals and roots.
James received a B.A. in Fine Art from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. He also studied Japanese Calligraphy and Zen Buddhism in Kyoto for a year. His paintings have been included in numerous group exhibitions including:
"Art:Intime" at Sumi Gallery in Manhattan
"Nature Art Biennial" in Seoul, Korea
"Fresh Paint" at Cheryl Pelavin Fine Art in Manhattan
After finishing his studies in New York, he was invited to participate in artist residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, Anderson Arts Ranch, Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, and Kamiyama Artists in Nature program. His work is represented at
Tama Gallery in Manhattan and the
Beppu-Wiarda Gallery in Portland, Oregon.
