Who is The Dirt Floor? Five Mendocino County dudes playing original gypsy-glam-grass; our own special blend of mutt music. Bluegrass. Electric funk jamming. Self-deprecating folk-country. Tight minor key gypsy instrumentals and loosely played punk rock. From the transcendental to the downright irreverent we do it all with guitars, banjos, mandolins, harmonicas, bass, drums and three singer/songwriters. Join us for a slightly insane night of music, dancing, and a damn good time.
Started back in 2004, The Dirt Floor consisted of Adam Sullivan (guitar/mandolin/vocals), Jeff Stoval (banjo, guitar, vocals), and Andrew Hudson (guitar/mandolin/harmonica/vocals) playing and performing as an all-acoustic 3 piece. Each guy came to the table with a healthy helping of original tunes already written, and after putting the old proverbial heads together, they discovered an exciting new sound that combined their diverse influences yet stayed true to traditional American roots music. The young and talented Kyle Madrigal joined as their full-time bass player in 2007, and after going through a drummer or two, the Dirt Floor settled on Bobby Cochran as their skin-beater extraordinare.
The Dirt Floor Band continues to play regularly all over Northern California, recently supporting Hot Buttered Rum for two nights on the North Coast, and looking forward to a Northwest mini-tour and some festival dates this summer.
