Raised in the mountains surrounding Salt Lake City and musically introduced to song and gathering at Irish Catholic family parties, it's no wonder that Brennan's performances make you feel like you're in a living room among friends. Esteemed for his intensely passionate performances, which run the gamut from wildly jubilant, to tender and intimate, Brennan consistently delights a wide spectrum of audiences with his unmistakably personal expression and soulful sound.
True to his role as a poet of the times, he sings songs that question and attack the root structure of a country off track. But his sweet spot is offering a slice of the finer things: the beauty of fresh snow on the mountain, afternoons with a younger brother, scratchy conversations with young and old citizens of the world. He is a sharp observer of the human condition.
Brennan invites us on a journey of exploration without expectation, savoring the poetry of the simplest things and whispering the words that we all share in our souls. After pursuing theater and writing in Oregon before traveling extensively, he returned to the Northwest in 2001 to pursue his craft and now resides in Portland.
Garett can often be found playing around Portland with his band the EBGBs, featuring Teddy Presberg on guitars, Will Amend on stand-up bass and Eben Dickinson on drums. The EBGBs can boogie when it's time to boogie, but they're also incredibly talented in accompanying Garett's ballad and folk work in more theatre-like settings.
